Dreams of the Tropical Youth Uganda is a youth-led and youth-centered non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to empowering vulnerable and disadvantaged rural youth. It was founded in January 2016 as a community-based organization (CBO) and later gained official registration with the National NGO Bureau in November 2017. Dreams of the Tropical Youth Uganda’s mission is to equip young people with essential reproductive health information and life skills, enabling them to harness available resources for their holistic empowerment. Since its inception, the organization has actively engaged in community-driven projects and advocacy campaigns in our areas of focus, giving specific attention to education, health, and social development.
Key initiatives include: Community engagement workshops, school outreaches, and family visits to promote adolescent and youth reproductive health awareness, the Annual Kyotera Women’s Health Charity Run (since 2018) to support women’s health and education initiatives, Improving learning environments by constructing six private latrines for girls, six changing rooms, six handwashing facilities, and six incinerators in rural primary schools ensuring a safer and healthier school experience for vulnerable children and youth. Through these efforts, Dreams of the Tropical Youth Uganda continues to make a lasting impact by keeping young people in school, promoting health and hygiene, and empowering communities for a brighter future.
