In partnership with SAALT, a B.Corp-certified period care brand, Dreams of the Tropical Youth Uganda is implementing this program with a holistic drive that primarily aims to address the challenge of poor menstrual hygiene in Uganda’s rural learning institutions. The goal is to equip adolescent girls and young women with sexual reproductive health information, including Menstrual Health Management. We conduct training and distribute environmentally friendly sanitary products such as menstrual cups and SAALT wear (knickers). We both believe that access to period care keeps girls in school, breaking the cycle of poverty for generations.
